The National Association of Landscape Professionals launched a company-level accreditation in November 2017 for businesses that employ Landscape Industry Certified professionals.
Sabeena Hickman, CEO of NALP, said in a statement that the program has been in development for a few years. “We wanted to ensure that we had the right requirements and processes in place to help ensure that only truly professional companies could achieve the designation,” Hickman said.
Companies are eligible if at least 10% of their staff is Landscape Industry Certified, and at least one employee has the Landscape Industry Certified Staff Manager designation. Applicants must also participate in a national safety program, conduct responsible and ethical business practices, complete the Pledge of Excellence, and submit three customer reference verification forms to be eligible.
Companies interested in the new designation can apply at NALP’s website. The application fee is based on annual sales volume and starts at $100 for NALP members and $200 for non-members.
